Boosting Emloyee Morale the Southwest Airlines Way
Submitted by gailhand on Sat, 06/13/2009 - 12:20.I love flying Southwest Airlines. It's affordable, very efficient, the staff is awesome and the experience is fun!! In this blog I wanted to share an article that the Chairman, President, and CEO Gary Kelly of SWA wrote about his company in Spirit Magazine. This company philosophy rocks and we all may want to consider following suit, your employees happiness depends on it!

After touring most of the state of Michigan because the main highway was closed due to a bridge shifting; I arrived in East Lansing a few hours later and with no tickets- so typical of travel these days!
Portland named #1 most depressed city by Business Week
Submitted by gailhand on Sat, 05/09/2009 - 13:39.As a proud citizen of Portland and service to our beautiful Rose City I have created a website called: Portlandisnotdepressed.com
The website suggests some great ideas to help combat this statistic and offer laughter events to help combat any depression that our Portlanders are feeling these days.
It is true that many of us would like to drop this ranking next year and focus on our finer points, many shown on this new site.

Vindication for the Sleddog Millionairre
Submitted by gailhand on Wed, 04/08/2009 - 19:32.Just a quick update for my most recent post. I healed long enough (by laughing of course) to go out and ski yesterday. I went right up directly to the 10ft rock that I had hit to take a closer look at it, perhaps make a gesture, something…

Submitted by gailhand on Mon, 03/30/2009 - 03:45.The Power of Laughter got me through yet another mishap on the ski slopes this week. After skiing some difficult bowls, and many miles of skiing, I was going down for what my skiing buddy and I had talked about might be our last run.“Let’s see how we feel after this one” I recall her saying as we were approaching the chairlift exit.

The Power of a Positive Attitude
Submitted by gailhand on Wed, 03/18/2009 - 11:16.A time out, any time out is a welcome respite for any of us. This past week I flew to NJ for a late scheduled college program and then stumbled upon perfect timing for the NCAA Big East Men's Basketball Championship. Lucky me, I got to attend for two days and the second game was THAT game!
The story is a bit comical and reminded me that a positive attitude and visioning is the key to life's excitement!
